The Barbershop Harmony Society has released 64 arrangements from the Heritage of Harmony Songbook, a great collection of Public Domain music compiled and arranged by the Society in the late 1980s. Go to the "Get Music>>Free Download" section of the Society website and scroll down to the "Heritage of Harmony" section.

These songs are available for free download for all members of the Barbershop Harmony Society. (All other rights reserved.) Enjoy classics like "Beautiful Dreamer," "Alexander's Ragtime Band," "Moonlight Bay," and many more. Many of the songs have short stories about the songs' composers along with background about the song. For you collectors out there, the full songbook is still available for purchase at the Harmony Marketplace. As always, questions about the contest suitability of any song/arrangement should be directed to the judging community and measured against current contest rules. Ask before you sing.

If you want a handy download for all the Buffalo Bills era document, the Free N Easy collection, the Heritage of Harmony and Classic Tags for Men's Voices in one location, you've got it! Download all the Free Barbershop Music right here! The files are rather large, and compressed using 7-Zip to save bandwidth. Just download, uncompress, and print the file back to front and take it to your local print shop to be bound into handy music books.

  • No Chorus rehearsalThink you can't sing? Think some people can sing, some can't, and that's it? Nandhu Radhakrishnan, an assistant professor at the University of Missouri, Columbia disagrees with you. According to his research, those who can't sing are those who don't. By simply singing, you can be turned from "I can't sing," to "I can sing." Every Thursday evening, the New Dimension Chorus, presents "Sing in Barbershop-Style," an on-going class to turn those who don't sing into those who can sing. The lessons continue to improve vocal production and ear training for all members. The class begins at 7:00 pm; be sure to arrive early to meet regular chorus members and obtain a welcome packet. 25 November, 2010 7:00pm
