New Dimension Chorus

Every Thursday evening, the New Dimension Chorus, under the auspices of Chabot College Community Education, presents "Sing in Barbershop-Style." The class begins at 7:00 pm, be sure to arrive early to meet regular chorus members and obtain a welcome packet.

Interim Director and Vocal Performance Coach Demaster M. Survine IV and Assistant Directors Jeff Harris and Bill Sandau lead and direct the New Dimension Chorus and all guests through warmups and exercises designed to develop one's natural voice instrument and presence. After a rousing warmup, Maestro Survine directs participants through a variety of a cappella songs in the Barbershop style, including gospel, patriotic, holiday, and American Standard songs.

The chorus meets in Chabot's recital room 1232, which is equipped with its own risers and provides a friendly venue for fraternity, sharing, and learning.

Heading northbound on Hesperian from Highway 92/Jackson, turn left on Depot, and turn right into the second entrance on the right, well before the stop sign. Follow around to the right, and find a parking place in Parking Lot G, and remember to purchase a daily parking permit from the dispenser, as parking is enforced Monday through Saturday. The New Dimension Chorus rehearsal hall is in building 1200.

Feel free to come by any Thursday evening to try us out. For regularly returning chorus members, a Chabot College fee of $29 per semester applies, with a $20 administrative fee your first semester. Additional fees apply for joining the Fremont-Hayward Chapter.
